On Friday, Fox Sports talking head Shannon Sharpe made an astute point on-air after 13 NFL teams watched Johnny Manziel in a workout. For those who might have forgotten “Johnny Football,” he’s the former Heisman Trophy-winner and Cleveland Brown who fell out of favor with the league amid substance abuse issues, middling on-field play and allegations of domestic violence in a case that was ultimately dismissed.
Sharpe pointed out Friday that despite all these issues, Manziel is seemingly getting another shot in the NFL unlike a certain quarterback who couldn’t get a contract last season amid his decision to kneel in protest during the national anthem. That quarterback is, of course, Colin Kaepernick.
