Orlando Police Officer Challenges Punishment for Racist Remarks About NFL Player Protests

The saga continues over the Orlando police officer, Robert Schellhorn, disciplined for calling players who knelt during the national anthem “useless savages” and “overpaid thugs.” Schellhorn was sentenced to 80 hours of suspension, and had appealed the decision to an arbitrator who will determine of the punishment was justified. To think that there are many other officers like Schellhorn on the streets with the enormous power and authority granted police officers, including the license to kill, displaying their racism and disdain for Black people before God and Country. Once again, protests during the anthem have done an excellent job of showing us who people really are.
