NFL Tries to Rein In Dallas Cowboys Jerry Jones' Unhelpful Anthem Comments

The reactionary NFL is at it again as it attempts to do damage control as a result of Jerry Jones’s plantation master comments on the national anthem. Jerry’s declaration that his players will have their “toes on the line” drew the attention of President Trump, the one individual the NFL would like to keep off of their radar.  Jones’s comments are also not helpful because they serve to undermine the efforts of the NFL and the NFLPA to come to an agreement on how to manage the national anthem issue. Thus, the NFL has directed Jones to refrain from speaking on the issue altogether.  This has resulted in at least one interview cancellation since of all the NFL owners, Jones’ stance on the anthem is the most controversial and thus quite a news magnet to journalists and media outlets.  We’ll see how long Jones will be able to abide by this gag order and control himself.  Probably not wise to hold one’s breath.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is now suddenly listening to the NFL.

Four days after seemingly defying the NFL and letting the world know about his team’s zero-tolerance policy regarding standing for the national anthem, Jones is now not talking about the issue because he has been told not to by the league.
